My Last Piano

Picture

Donna Wallace-Cohen had planned to be a classical pianist and excelled in playing at a very early age. Later she majored in piano at The Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She had also studied drawing and painting, and eventually art became her preference. She decided to quit her pursuit of a career in music and her father never forgave her, writing her out of his will. Still always needing to be near a piano over the last fifty years, she has bought and sold six grand pianos. Now, she has made her very last piano using her many different skills and a mix of materials to express the emotions she has felt over time regarding that decision long ago

Materials:
Wire, wood, found object, paper, clay, wood hand crafted keyboard.
