“A Trip to the Moon” is a French fantasy film made in 1902 by George Melies and it has been noted as one of the greatest films of the 20th century. A few copies were made of the film, one of which was taken by Thomas Edison who proceeded to show it and receive the financial rewards which came from it’s popularity in America. No royalties were ever paid to George Melie who died penniless and forgotten. When I saw the film, I knew that I wanted to make something to remember this amazing man and his wonderful films.
