As a child in central Illinois I played for hours out and about my Grandpa’s blacksmith shop. In the winter large ice clusters would form organically among the pieces of iron he had nailed to the outside walls of his shop. As I stood fascinated by the shapes, the crackling of electrical wires on a cold morning could be heard overhead. This piece encompasses these happy memories.
Materials: Wire, iron chain, Iron found objects, crystals, and porcelain electrical components.
